Jim's Big Ego outsells Britney!

Okay, it was only for 2 days and only on {a href= "http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/external-search/103-2163616-8202211?tag=jimsbigego-20&keyword=Jim's Big Ego&mode=music">Amazon.com- but MAN did that feel great.

JBE's interview on Weekend Edition.

Jim Infantino of Jim's Big Ego was interviewed on weekend edition with Liane Hansen this past weekend.

listen to it and/or read about it on npr.org

Immediately after it aired our webserver was so bogged down, it couldn't handle the amount of simultaneous requests for our domain name and we were shut down for 10 to 15 minutes - thereafter guest users soared to hover around 100- threatening to overload our MySQL server. It was a lot of attention for an unpop band.

(a bump in our bandwidth)

Later that day, They're Everywhere became the 17th most ordered CD on Amazon.com ahead of Bare Naked Ladies, Nora Jones and the Dave Matthew's Band (Sting was still more popular - but hey - he's Sting).

We are buried under a mass of orders unlike we have ever seen. We will be working over time to get them out tonight.

All of this is very good news - and shows you the power of public radio. Thank you Liane!

Jim's Big Ego Won't Sue You

Jims Big Ego Wont Sue You
That's right - Jim's Big Ego will not sue you for downloading and sharing
our music. We won't subpoena your 12 year-old daughter. We won't accuse your
luddite grandmother. We will not lobby Congress to throw you in jail. And we
will not punish you for wanting to listen to our music.

That's because we own the rights to our songs. We release our music by
ourselves. And we believe that we have the right to encourage you to share
our music with your friends without fear of retribution from us or anyone
else.

To prove our point, our most recent release - THEY'RE EVERYWHERE! - has been

BigEgo.com experiencing rolling blackouts.

Thanks to the overwhelming response to Liane Hansen's Sunday November 2nd Weekend Edition piece on Jim's Big Ego - our webserver (which we had thought was robust enough) has been so overwhelmed by the traffic that it has gone down twice now - once after each time the piece has aired in each time zone.

It will undoubtably happen again when the show hits the West Coast - please hang in there and come see our site again, when there is less of a cue - we will work on ways to beef up our bandwidth as well.

Thank you for visiting!
